Can I Buy Any Number Plate for My Vehicle?

Not necessarily, as not all plates work, or are compliant, with all vehicles. For example, you need to have a standard, road-compliant plate for your everyday vehicle – you wouldn’t be able to fit a black, vintage or show number plate onto it.

What Plates Can’t I Have?

While there are plenty of ways to personalise the appearance of your vehicle, certain number plate styles and modifications are not permitted for road use.

• Decorative fonts or altered lettering
