These terms are set out between you, ‘The customer’, and ourselves, ‘The Company’ who trade as Great Plates and who's contact details can be found in the 'Contact us' section of the web site. The term ‘show plates’ shall mean any design of plate manufactured specifically on behalf of you, the customer, which has been designed using the greatshowplates.com plate builder pages, and ordered either online or offline. All plate products are made from high quality reflective materials that conform to British Standards. Please bear in mind that the design input by you will be replicated in our production system so please be sure that you have designed the order the way that you want it. We do not interfere with any online design and any spelling mistakes or incorrect details entered will be the responsibility of the customer. No order can be amended once purchased (excluding where design is required) as the plates are automatically printed.
We may collect personal identification information from users in a variety of ways, including but not limited to, when they visit our site, place an order or interact with the services available on this site. Those users may be asked for their personal name, business details, email address, postal address and phone number. Visitors may visit our site anonymously because we only collect personal identification information from users when they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personal identification information on the understanding it will prevent them from engaging in certain site related services.
We may collect non-personal identification information about users whenever they interact with our site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser used, type of device and technical information about the users means of connection to our site, such as the operating system and the internet service provider and other similar information. Site analytics are a common type of service which collects non-personal identification information but still provides useful details on visitor numbers and website movement.
We use and adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our site.
We do not sell, trade, or rent users personal identification information to others. We may share generic information not linked to any personal information with our business partners and affiliates for the purposes outlined above. We use third party service providers to help us operate our business, the website or administer activities on our behalf. We may share non-personal information with these third parties for those limited purposes.
By using this site or our services you signify your acceptance of this policy and its terms. If you do not agree to this policy please do not use our site. Your continued use of the website and its services following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes. Our services in the supply of show plates begins upon receipt of an order and because the service provides for a product that is made specifically for an individual customer and is unique, we are unable to accept requests for cancellations or refunds where the company has failed in its duty in respect of quality and supply. The customer has sole responsibility to ensure that all details submitted within the website or over the phone are correct at the time of purchase. If the customer wishes to cancel the agreement, it is at the complete discretion of the company as to whether to provide a refund or cancel the order if the failure results from errors of the customer. The company will not be held responsible for any amendments, changes or cancellations once the order has been placed. Where an issue has occurred as a result of a failure on the company’s part, the company’s liability is restricted to a full refund. No further claims of any kind will be considered.
It is understood that the graphic images and colours portrayed on the plate builder are displayed specifically according to the resolution of your own computer screen. Some screens will show a vibrant colour whereas others may not and accordingly we cannot guarantee that the colour match will be identical to your screen. However, you can be confident in any respect that the basic colours and design elements will materially match what you have designed. You should ensure to check the spacing and design of your order before finalising, as the order will be made to the input, generated design specification. If you are unsure, do not place the order, please contact us via email or phone and we will walk you through the process to meet your requirements.
If you have any questions or are uncertain as to the meaning of any aspect of these terms and conditions you must contact us prior to placing your order, as all orders are received and acted upon by us on the understanding that our terms and conditions have been read, understood and accepted by you.
Purchasable goods within the website are subject to availability. Should the required stock not be available within 2 weeks of the order, a full refund will be applied if so desired by the customer.
Plates are sent by Recorded First Class Royal Mail and should arrive 2 to 4 working days after they are sent. Orders for Pressed Metal plates take a little longer as they are all hand-made. In all cases Great Plates obtain ‘proof of posting’ from Royal Mail and we will be able to assist with tracing any lost or delayed parcels. Once a delivery is marked as ‘delivered’ within the online Royal Mail tracker, customers should enquire directly with Royal Mail if they are yet to receive their parcel for any reason, as the onus of fulfilling the order has passed to Royal Mail. We fully accept that the remedy in respect of lost or delayed parcels will be The Company's responsibility after a reasonable period has been allowed. Royal Mail, for instance, do not consider a parcel as 'lost' for a period of 15 days.
The company ensure best efforts are made to provide the fastest creation and dispatch of goods; however, delivery times cannot be guaranteed. The company is not responsible for delays, damages or faults within the delivery systems which will vary from customer to customer. The customers should note that the sole onus of fitting a show plate to a vehicle is the responsibility of the customer and the company cannot be held responsible for any concurrent issues caused as a result, such as failing an MOT check, or being stopped by authorities on public roads. The onus is on the customer to review and understand the information on the website before placing an order. The customer should also refer to the local authority guidelines to ensure compliance with local rules, should the intention be to use the goods as anything other than show plates.
Goods will be assumed as accepted if no contact has been made within 1 week of receiving the goods (as per the relevant post tracking system).
Customers should not dispose of the enclosed paperwork within an order. Doing so is considered an act of acceptance that they are satisfied the order has been fulfilled. The paperwork is important to decipher where any issues occurred and should therefore be retained for the purposes of any dispute or query.
Due to packaging and production methods, customers should be aware that the back of plates may on occasion have feint / shallow scratching. This is as efforts are made to keep the front, exposed part of the plates to the expected standard. As the back of the plate is not visible or functional, this is not considered an issue. Please do not place an order if this is of major concern. Alternately, contact us via phone or email immediately after placing your order and we will ensure your order specifically has no such scratching.
All orders are dispatched by Royal Mail. Orders placed before 3pm will be despatched on the same day. Orders placed after 3pm on a Friday will be despatched on the following Monday (unless a bank holiday, then it will be the Tuesday). Packages delivered by Royal Mail will not be considered as 'lost' for a period of 15 working days at which time a replacement will be sent out.
The company will hold no responsibility for the fitting of plates to a vehicle, and therefore if damage is caused to the goods during the act of fitting.
Goods displayed on the website does not establish a contractual obligation to supply those goods. The company can refuse an order at its own discretion and will endeavour to provide reasoning to the customer(s) should this occur for any reason.
Your statutory rights are unaffected by anything within this statement of terms and conditions.
Some images on this site may be copyright. If you see an image and you are the individual copyright holder, please contact us immediately if you wish for such images to be removed. This site is not supported or endorsed by the creators of any image found on this site. Please be aware that all of our show plates are not for use on the public motorway and by doing so you are in breach of the road traffic act. Show plates are therefore sold on the strict understanding that they will not be fitted to a road going vehicle and it is your responsibility as the customer to use them only in a legal fashion.
Payment must be received by the company within 24 hours of the order being placed and the purchase being made. The company is not liable / responsible for any delays in providing the goods caused as a result of the delay in receiving payment
The design service covers up to 3 design proofs to be sent to the email address submitted within the order. The company reserves the right to provide you a full refund for the order if the third design still cannot be agreed upon. Note that there are certain circumstances where a design will not be possible to fulfil. Although we will endeavour to accommodate all designs, the company reserves the right to refuse a design and provide a refund in full.
If, for any reason, goods arrive damaged or faulty, then please email us on admin@greatshowplates with pictures of the damage/fault(s) and an explanation of your concerns. Due to the bespoke nature of our products, our general policy is to replace faulty goods as opposed to issuing refunds. Refunds will be issued at the discretion of the company and will require the return of the relevant goods. Any returns made will be at the customers own expense.
Once delivery has occurred according to the postal tracking system, any problems, concerns or issues should be reported within 3 days of receipt and before any attempt is made to fit the goods to a vehicle. Please note that attempting to fit plates or products to a vehicle will be considered as an acceptance of the product received. Once fitted, the customer has accepted that the plate is acceptable and therefore no replacements or refunds will be issued. Goods checked that are deemed to have been damaged during the posting process or found to be faulty will be manufactured and posted again. Damaged plates will be replaced at our discretion.
Materials used within the plate building process ensure that the final product supplied always meet or exceed the necessary quality standards and regulations set by UK law. All supplied plates are Show Plates which are made and supplied for "off road" use only, car shows exhibitions, private land etc, where the law does not apply. Due to the strict restrictions of trade given by the UKs 'DVLA' all plates, including legal style layout or full design control are sold to the customer on the basis of being for show use only and the customer may risk prosecution if the registration plates are used on UK motorways. It is the customers responsibility to make sure all selection of spacing on the plate is compliant with relevant regulations. Show plates, by nature, are personalised products therefore refunds or returns are not valid if you change your mind or don't like the received items. The online plate builder gives a visual example of the plate design and look you have chosen. The plates supplied by the company will resemble closely the image shown on screen. They may though have slight differences due to website software limitations. Our normal delivery times are 3-4 working days.
